Rabbitsqn rare aviation books and prints was started by Bob Yeoman in December 2001, originally an E-bay trading name, Rabbitsqn soon became a well known and trusted place to buy rare Battle of Britain books and prints at reasonable prices.

Bob, a keen collector himself of Aviation art, became aware that some prints, though excellent in quality, were not really affordable to the man in the street. In addition, the research that needed to be carried out for historical accuracy was sometimes sadly lacking.

Bob’s idea was to produce a really good Battle of Britain Painting signed by some Fighter Pilots but that was historically accurate in every detail.

Michael Robinson, author of “Best of the Few” and the worlds leading expert on 92 Sqn inspired Bob. He had read this excellent book and decided that his first print would be one depicting 92 Sqn Spitfires in combat during the Battle of Britain.

Michael Robinson was approached and although somewhat sceptical at first soon warmed to the task ahead and it is thanks to Mike that we had the day, date, aircraft codes and fighter pilots involved for the picture, now all we needed was an artist to paint it.

David Pritchard was working part time for a local art gallery in Farnborough, Hants. David had once been headmaster at a local Church run school. One day while Bob was having a picture framed he asked David, “You don’t know of a decent aviation artist do you?” David replied, “Yes I do, it’s me!” So arrangements were made for a mock up to be done and David was hired!

All the ingredients were together for a good print except the funding to do it, but that was soon remedied in the person of Stuart Mitchell who was a keen art collector himself and wanted to be involved.

The results can now be seen in some beautiful pictures and portraits. Click on Portraits or Pictures to see more.
