Assessments
We are pleased to
offer two types of assessment which are described below. All assessments are
carried out by a fully qualified Educational Needs consultant having the RSA
diploma for teaching adults and children with specific learning difficulties
and certificates in advanced educational studies in special educational needs.
Our main assessment methodology is based on the Special Needs
Assessment Profile (SNAP) purchased from the educational supplier Hodder
Murray. Click here
for more detailed information on the SNAP Assessment and other techniques.
Standard
Assessment
Our Standard Assessment includes a SNAP assessment as described
above. In addition tests are carried out for short term visual and auditory
memory, alphabetical and phonetic knowledge, laterality, and sound
discrimination.
This assessment costs £100 but comes with FREE lessons during
the first month’s attendance for sessions. These are given on a buy one get one
free basis per week. In addition to the SNAP profile and the personalised
information sheets, a chart representing the student’s reading and spelling
ability is provided together with verbal feedback.
Full Assessment
The Full Assessment includes everything provided in the Standard
Assessment but also includes tests on visual sequential memory and vocabulary
scale. A full written report is provided in an easy to understand format which
can be used to assist in obtaining exam access arrangements or to provide to
such organisations as schools, colleges, universities, employers, courts etc.
This assessment costs £300.
