Alan J K Johnson manages the work of DysCypher Limited. DysCypher Limited was set up to be the organisation to manage the Farnborough Dyslexia & Learning Centre as well as other centres as they are organised. He is assisted in this work by his wife (Christine) and sons (Paul, Ralph and Douglas).

Alan was educated at 'The School' in Wellingborough, Northants, England, the Farnborough College of Technology and the Kingston College of Technology. He served an Apprenticeship at the Royal Aircraft Establishment in Farnborough (1961 – 1966) (changed name to DERA then QinetiQ)

After his apprenticeship, Alan stayed with the MoD in Quality Assurance initially being part of AQD and then EQD. He was attached to D/ARadio and later joined them as a Project Officer. He received an MBE in 1991 for his work for MoD during the Gulf war. He transferred to D/CIS(Eng) and was introduced into the world of consultancy. D/CIS(Eng) was absorbed into D/ISIS. Alan stayed with D/ISIS while it was in London but retired a few years after it moved to Bristol. He joined Reference Information Systems Limited for a short while and then, with Christine, managed the setting up and running of the Farnborough Dyslexia Centre (September 1999 to date).

Christine S P Johnson carries out the initial assessments (standard and full), Paul J C Johnson has written the main software (SureSpell) and Ralph A E Johnson and Douglas I F Johnson help maintain the associated software and network system.
