Summer School 2006

At the end of July and the beginning of August this year we will be in Canada celebrating the marriage of our youngest son to Lisa so we are only able to offer a reduced summer event. We have specially opened on Saturday mornings for normal tuition throughout the summer under the supervision of a qualified Speech and Language Therapist. We will also be offering half price Standard Assessments each weekday from 21st August until 8th September. In addition we will be running evening presentations from 22nd August to 15th September. During Summer School we will be offering the following attractions:

·       Reduced price lessons. The prices charged for this period only will be £20 per session. (More than 25% off!)

·       Half price assessment using the Hodder Murray Special Needs Assessment Profile (SNAP). The price for a written assessment including the SNAP assessment is £300 and our standard assessment including SNAP assessment is £100. From 21st August to 8th September Monday to Friday, at 9am, 11am, 3pm by prior arrangement we are offering our standard assessment at half price. The duration of the assessment is approximately 90 minutes involving both student and parent(s).

o     Educational assessment to determine special needs incorporating the Special Needs Assessment Profile (SNAP) technique and performed by a qualified person providing reading age, spelling age, learning style, colour susceptibility and degree of difficulty in each of 18 different Special Educational Need areas.

o     Reduced Price For Summer Only!  Normally £100, now only £50. Please call 01252 515348 or email Christine@FDLC.co.uk to arrange an assessment.

·       Free Summer School Evening Presentations/discussions (depending on demand - minimum attendance 4 people, maximum of 8 people) for parents covering different aspects of dyslexia to be held at the Centre at 7.30pm for about 60 or 90 mins. The dates and topics are as follows: -

o     Tue 22nd Aug     Understanding dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD

o     Wed 30th Aug     How to help the dyslexic child with special activities

o     Thur 7th Sept      How to help the dyslexic child with diet and music

o     Fri 15th Sept       How to help the dyslexic child by building self esteem
